2017 Genesis G80 For Sale In New Jersey

New Jersey Genesis G80

Positioned under the larger and costlier flagship G90 model, the 2017 Genesis G80 is the entry-level model of the premium Genesis brand. Previously called the Hyundai Genesis, the G80 carries over most of the former model's features. Along with the G80's new status as a luxury sedan comes the addition of safety equipment. When you visit a New Jersey Genesis dealer, you'll be pleasantly surprised to find that such a well-appointed midsize sedan offers class-leading value.

The 2017 Genesis G80 comes loaded with comfort and convenience features. Even the base trim comes with enough luxury features to satisfy the most discerning drivers. The interior is handsomely appointed, with the level of quality found in Japanese and European luxury vehicles. With the G80, there's no need to spend extra money for a status brand, because this midsize sedan provides all the amenities usually associated with its more-established challengers.

Creating a premium brand doesn't come without risks. In the case of Hyundai, those risks seem to have paid off. The automotive press gave uniformly favorable reviews to the 2017 Genesis G80, with Automobile Magazine writing: "…the G80 is a premium-spec, lavishly equipped sedan boasting a sticker that will give rivals fits. It morphs from wearing the Hyundai nameplate to carrying upscale Genesis badges without apology - or, probably, most buyers being the wiser."

The 2017 Genesis G80 seats five and is offered in two trim levels: 3.8 and 5.0. The numbers for each trim level correspond to the size of the engine. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional.

The Genesis G80 3.8 trim is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 engine that develops 311 horsepower and 293 lb.-ft. of torque. Under the hood of the G80 5.0 is a 5.0-liter V8 that cranks out an impressive 420 hp and 383 lb.-ft. Both engines are teamed to an eight-speed automatic transmission with four driving modes and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

EPA-estimated fuel economy for the base G80 with rear-wheel drive is 18 mpg city/28 mpg highway, while all-wheel-drive models get 16 city/25 highway.* The 5.0 model is rated at 15 city/23 highway.

When it comes to entertainment, the Genesis G80 has you covered. Standard features for the base Genesis G80 3.8 include a seven-speaker audio system with satellite radio and HD Radio, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a navigation system and an 8-inch touchscreen. Two options packages are offered for the G80 3.8. The Premium package adds a 14-speaker Lexicon surround-sound audio system, while the Ultimate package (requires the Premium package) gets a head-up display and a 9.2-inch touchscreen. Standard entertainment features on the Genesis G80 5.0 trim features a 17-speaker Lexicon surround-sound audio system.

Safety features that come standard on the 2017 Genesis G80 include a rearview camera, automatic high beams, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking. Optional safety gear includes a head-up display, front and rear parking sensors and an in-cabin carbon dioxide sensor that pumps fresh air into the cabin when it senses levels of carbon dioxide have risen to dangerous levels.
